Introduction

Boatshed Modular is a collaborative model allowing multiple parties to contribute to the sale of a boat through distinct but connected roles. Each "Process" represents a step in the boat sales journey, and participants are compensated with a share of the final brokerage commission. This guide outlines the responsibilities, workflows, and expectations for each process.


🔧 Process 1: Introduce a Listing

Objective:

Generate and register genuine boat sales leads.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify boats for sale in your area.
  • Register the seller and boat on the Boatshed Dashboard within two months.
  • Confirm the lead was independently sourced (not from Boatshed.com or its feeds).

Commission:

Up to 20% of final broker’s commission.

Notes:

This process allows individuals to earn from generating leads even if they don’t handle the sale directly.


🛟 Process 2: Local Liaison

Objective:

Be the on-the-ground representative for a boat listing.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet the owner and visit the boat in person.
  • Collect full details, including inventory and condition.
  • Take high-quality, anonymised photos and video walkthroughs.
  • Photograph documentation (e.g., registration, VAT evidence).
  • Draft broker's comments and upload content to the Dashboard.
  • Attend viewings and surveys.
  • Support Process 3 with logistics like sea trials and post-sale handover.

Commission:

20% of the broker’s commission.

Key Standards:

Ensure all images meet Boatshed’s quality standards.


📞 Process 3: Brokerage Services

Objective:

Manage the relationship with the seller and handle all buyer communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept listings via the Dashboard when a customer completes the "Sell My Boat" form.
  • Contact seller, explain process and agree commission rates.
  • Request listing agreement via Process 4.
  • Coordinate listing info gathering with Process 2.
  • Verify listing content and activate it.
  • Conduct valuation and price discussions with seller.
  • Ensure boat name is anonymised in photos.
  • Request marketing campaigns from Process 4.
  • Respond to enquiries and “5-view” alerts.
  • Coordinate viewings, sea trials, and feedback.
  • Manage negotiations and offers.
  • Oversee sales process and handover coordination.
  • Cover third-party advertising expenses if required.

Commission:

20% of the broker’s commission.

Note:

This is the central operational role and requires continuous communication with both Process 2 and 4.


🧾 Process 4: Administration & Compliance

Objective:

Ensure all legal, financial, and operational compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Send digital listing agreements for signature.
  • File contracts in Google Drive.
  • Manage marketing to external sites.
  • Provide legal support and confirm terms of sale.
  • Oversee financials via the client account.
  • Assist brokers with documentation and negotiations.
  • Verify that processes are followed correctly.

Commission:

20% of the broker’s commission.

Systems:

Utilizes Boatshed’s document signing, Google Drive, and marketing tools.


💻 Process 5: Platform Management

Objective:

Operate and maintain Boatshed’s technology and customer platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate buyer leads through websites and feeds.
  • Manage CRM and email marketing tools.
  • Provide support via ticketing and help guides.
  • Ensure data privacy, cybersecurity, and GDPR compliance.
  • Deliver hosted emails and technical tools to brokers.
  • Maintain and evolve the Boatshed sales dashboard.
  • Cover technical and operational system costs.

Commission:

20% of the broker’s commission.

Boatshed Dashboard, Boatshed CRM, marketing automation systems.


🔄 Commission Sharing Summary

Each Process (1–5) earns 20% of the final broker’s commission. Individuals may contribute to multiple processes for a larger share.

  • Use only Boatshed-provided emails and systems for communication.
  • Upload all signed contracts to Google Drive (Process 4).
  • Ensure full GDPR and Boatshed compliance.
  • Complete any mandatory training for your process.
  • Maintain regular communication and handovers across Processes.
