MARKETING - Friends of Boatshed

The Friends of Boatshed scheme is designed for Boatshed offices to work with a variety of suppliers in their area. We pride ourselves in going the extra mile to ensure the process of buying and selling a boat is as easy as possible for our customers.  We are looking to work with Marine companies who share our ethos of putting the customer first.

The following video was recorded for the Boatshed Conference in September 2021 and explains Friends of Boatshed

Our aim is for the FOB to refer listings to Boatshed and in turn our customers will use the services of the FOB.  When discussing the scheme with a potential FOB we need to determine how many listings they feel they can send to Boatshed and this will be added to their agreement which will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.  There is no limit to the number of FOB's you can have with your brokerage.

The Friends of Boatshed will appear at the bottom of the listing and will be situated under the relevant categories.  There are 3 levels of FOB so the marine company needs to decide which level of service they are happy to offer:

LOCAL - The FOB is displayed on the boats from the Boatshed Brand (it stays with the boat/brand), even if they are looking at the boat from a different Boatshed Brand.

Example: A Beneteau is listed with Boatshed Brighton and the customer views it from Boatshed Brighton or Boatshed France, the FOB will appear.

NATIONAL - The FOB is displayed on all boats within the same country, it doesn’t matter which brand it is listed under or which brand the customer is using when they look at the boat.

GLOBAL - The FOB is displayed on all boats no matter where the location of the boat or brand

The customer who is viewing the boat will be able to click on the FOB which will take them through to a pre-populated form.  They can enter their own message if they have a specific query, once the form is sent it will go directly to the FOB who will be able to respond directly to the customer.

The following emails are sent when the enquiry form is sent:

    • Friend of Boatshed - will receive an email with the customers enquiry and a link to the boat advert
    • Customer - will receive an email confirming their enquiry has been sent
    • Broker - will receive an email to let them know the customer has made an enquiry
