MARKETING - Pitching Boatshed in under 3 minutes

This is probably the most useful 2.45 mins video about Boatshed you’ll ever need!

Watch this video as Neil Chapman (Founder of Boatshed) demonstrates how to pitch to a customer whilst at La Rochelle boat show, France.

PPP - Perfect Process Pitch

TRANSCRIPT:

This is used when you are talking to a customer who’s looking to buy a boat or sell a boat, just talk about the process...

The Listing

Here at the boat show you can see a selection of boats for sale, but we have over 2000 boats for sale, in various locations worldwide.

The important thing is that for every boat, one of us has been on-board and taken a standardised set of around 350 pieces of information, this includes…

  • 150 standardized photographs, bilges, wiring, all the bits you want to see, warts and all.
  • Video walk through's of the boat.
  • Virtual reality integration of the boat via your mobile phone, tablet, PC or headset.

The whole idea is you get a completely transparent impression of what the boat is like before you need to talk to a broker or a sales person.

Viewing and Offers

Once you’ve been through this process you’ll want to physically see the boat, and that's why Boatshed’s locations are really important, we’re going to meet you on-board the boat and show you all the aspects.

If you are then interested in making a purchase, then you simply make an offer, that's put to the broker. The Broker then takes the offer to the Seller of the boat. If they are agreeable to the offer, we would recommend that everyone makes an offer subject to survey. You simply pay a 10% deposit into the Boatshed Client account, which holds the boat under offer. This means the broker can't talk to anyone else, or the seller can't talk to anyone else about buying the boat.

Surveys and SOLD

You can then undertake a survey or potentially a sea trial while the boat is under offer and at the end of this process you are going to either decide to proceed.

  • In which case we will get the balance of the monies into the client account and transfer ownership to the new owner. Obviously making the appropriate checks in terms of  title, make sure money isn't owed on the boat, and any marina fees have been covered.
  • You may also ask us to renegotiate at that particular stage because items on the vessel may not be up to scratch,
  • or alternatively you may decide the vessel is not for you in which case you can reject the vessel and your deposit is refunded in full.

It’s all about being able to explain this process to either a buyer or seller or anyone talking about Boatshed in a succinct and thorough way and in you can do it under 3 minutes then great.
