Marketing to your subscriber list

The Rules that govern sending email are very strict and are regulated under various statues and international laws. In the UK for example the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 cover the sending of email marketing. This legislation says that organisations must only send marketing emails to individuals if you have agreed to receive them.

Boatshed Policy is to operate only under these regulations.

Variables:

  • Are they registered with your brand?
  • Have they agreed to receive the Boatshed newsletter ? ticked the opt in option upon registration?
  • Have they used the system in last 18 month or is their account idle ? (some go missing for 2 or 3 years and return when they want to buy or sell a boat again)
  • Have they had the do not email me option ticked in the dashboard?
  • Have they un-subscribed from email themselves (This is common if they get irrelevant alerts or contacts from individual brokers)

Subscribing on-line

When we build website registration forms we follow the strict guidelines/rules for data protection and anti spam regulations. That's why on the Boatshed registration form the subscribe box is set so that the customers willingly and knowingly have to tick the checkbox.

The text below is taken from the anti spam guidelines.

  • An opt-in checkbox on a form. This checkbox must not be checked by default, the person completing the form must willingly select the checkbox to indicate they want to hear from you.
